A Long Weekend

LONG WEEKEND

I took Friday off this past weekend because the marvelous Miss Sara Kaye Larson was in town for a visit! Here is our fabulous and fun weekend in pictures.

I picked up Gus from Daycare a few minutes early on Thursday so he could come up to mom's office for a visit. He got to sit with Mr. Monday and eat grapes.

We went to breakfast at the Sidestreet Cafe on Friday morning. Just us and all the bluehairs. They always seat us in the very back. I can't imagine why.
LUCY!

Max and Lucy came to visit on Friday afternoon for a trip to the pool.

Sara and Bob brought a birthday gift for Gus, bathtub DRUMS! He loves them and I love them because they keep him occupied in the tub.

Oscar and Belen came to the park with us on Sunday and we all took a shopping trip to trader joes before heading home.

I thought this would make a great hip hop album cover.

We visited our friend Cristin at an art gallery in Hamtramck.

Pizza box art.

He was inspired to do some drawing. True artists can't afford shirts.

Downtown

I love working downtown. Gus goes to school right next door to me in the Fox building so I went next door and took him on a walk this afternoon. We headed down to Hart Plaza to checkout the skateboarders gathered for go skateboarding day. We were about halfway there when they swarmed up woodward avenue. The sound was amazing. Gus loved it.

Here we are in the lobby of the Palms building where Mom's office is.

It was hard to capture how many skateboarders there were. Hundreds, swerving in and out of traffic.

Also, it sure beats the view from my office in Troy. Especially on game day.

Beth and Luke's wedding reception

I don't have any excuses. I'm a lazy blogger. I am going to try my hardest from here on out to post photos of my little man. He is such an awesome, funny guy and I want to share his amazing personality with the world! This past weekend we drove to Ohio for a family party. I was nervous in the weeks leading up to the trip. It was a 3.5 hour drive and I was worried Gus would get antsy and weary of the car seat. He slept the EnTire way there and talked and giggled and played with his record player most of the way home. He LOVED partying in the hotel room. And he had a blast tormenting the dogs at the party. The occasion was to celebrate the marriage of one of my favorite cousins (she might actually be my favorite but I really like her sis too, but she is older). She and her husband, Luke, were married last year in England and now live in London, where he is from. Everyone in Wooster, OH is smitten with his british accent.

Playing with his records in the car.

Holding hands with a puppy.

Me and Beth, squealing about all the cuteness.

Emmy and Beth, in a tie for favorite cousin.

Must love dogs.

Snowy weekend in January

Gus and I had a lovely weekend together. We are both starting to get a bit stir crazy in the house but there was a beautiful snow fall so we played outside for a bit with Miki, met up with Oscar and Belen to play chess in corktown, and walked around the village on Sunday. This blog has been activated for, actually I don't remember when I set it up but obviously this is my first time posting and he is 8 months old. I'm a bad social media mom. It will consist mostly of pictures, but that's what you really want anyway, right? Enjoy!
